Hunger Games
Just a little recap before I pick it apart

North America, as we know it now, has been destroyed and is now divided into 12 districts, ruled by an crazy government located at the Capitol. Every year each district sends one boy and one girl to the Hunger Games to fight to death. The main character, Katniss Everdeen from District 12, takes her younger sister Prim's place as one of 24 “tributes” selected every year to participate in the Hunger Games at the Capitol. The other tribute is Peeta Mellark. Katniss and Peeta travel to the capitol and train for the games, but when they are actually put in the arena everything goes crazy
You might not want to read on if you haven't read the book, I'm not promising that I don't give it away. So its not my fault if you read it and I ruin it for you.
I mean it.

This book deals a lot with trust. In the beginning it shows Katniss and Gale in the woods hunting, Gale trust Katniss when he bashes the Capitol when they are hunting, if she ever told on him he would probably be killed or turned into a slave at the capitol. Katniss has to trust Haymitch that he will help her through the games. He is a drunk bum that doesn't seem to care about the tributes. But he is their mentor so he is the one who will send them gifts. She gets betrayed by Peeta but then she realizes that he was just protecting her. Rue (who is the cutest) trusts Katniss and Katniss trusts her also, they team up and blow up the groups pile of food. The 'group' is all the tributes that ganged up together, mostly the careers and some other people with certain characteristics, Peeta is part of this group also. They all have some trust because in the end only one can win, but they all work together to take down all the other tributes. When Katniss had to go back to the cornucopia to get the backpack she couldn't trust anyone. She was very close to dying. Well as you all have heard there was a movie that just came out of this book. It was amazing but thats beside the point. What I want to say is how when you are reading it you can imagine EVERYTHING from the poverty of the districts to the crazyness of the capitol, the food they eat, the clothes they wear and even facial expressions. She does a mighty fine job at imagery. This really makes the story amazing. when you arent reading (which wont be long because its impossiable to put down) its hard not to think about all the characters and events. She implants these images in your head and it's like you have seen the movie... but the catch is you havn't (cause you aren't one of those losers who sees the movie and doesn't read the book).
soooooo all I have to say is this book was more perfect than me, and trust me that's hard to do! But seriously this is the best book I've ever read. From how much detail she adds to the development of the characters it's an all around amazing read! I really don't have anything that I wish she did differently with the book.
This book is more perfect than you, eh? That's a pretty big compliment! Now, of course, you need to read the next two - it won't do you any good to stop after part I of a trilogy!!!
